There were several instances at the final meeting where athletes ran in the wrong number. In two cases this was due to the Team Manager giving a number to the wrong athlete, and then the original athlete having to purchase a replacement. We then had the same number appearing twice in the results.

There were also cases of numbers appearing in the result of a race which was not the correct age group. Athletes have either been given the wrong number, or put on someone else’s. In at least one case this was a sister’s, and the number had already appeared in the result of the correct race!

We are reluctant to disqualify athletes, especially when it may not be their fault. However, when we cannot resolve matters, the only option is to remove them from the results.
